# Breaks

## **Requesting a Break** 

We understand that things can arise, and you may need to take a break from staffing. Please put the request in `#╰🌿・staff-breaks` so that Admins don't count you for your weekly checks. We may ask you to step down from your position if you spend most of your time as staff on break. 

### If your break is:

<summary>Less than 3 days:</summary>

* You will not be exempt from checks
* It will mostly just let the staff team know you're not around those days.
* Ex. September 8th - September 9th.

<summary>3 - 7 days: </summary>

* You will be exempt from checks
* Admins will not remove your roles
* Ex. September 8th - September 13th&#x20;

<details>

<summary>Over 7 days:</summary>

* You will be exempt from checks
* Admins will remove your roles until you return
* Ex. September 8th - September 21st

</details>

<details>

<summary>If you don't know how long your break will be:</summary>

* You must talk to Admins to figure out a reasonable timeframe
* We are pretty lenient, especially if it's a serious situation&#x20;

*Not&#x65;**:** You don't have to disclose the exact reason. You can put something vague.*
