# Five Strike Model

This is the general punishment system we follow for rule-breakers in the server. It would be best if you don't stray from this unless an Admin permits you or it meets the criteria for one of the [common situations](/moderation-guide/rule-enforcement/common-situations.md).

You must always run `!notes <userID>` and `!modlogs <userID>` in `╭🎍・staff-commands`before deciding which punishment is appropriate.&#x20;

* Strikes that were issued **over a month** **ago** do not count anymore, unless it states otherwise.&#x20;
* **You must discuss all punishments** except 1st and 2nd strikes with at least one other staff member.
