## Syntax

#### Adding a note

This is how you add a note to a user’s moderation profile. You must use this for [verbal warnings](/moderation-guide/handling-rule-breaks/five-strike-model/verbal-warnings.md), but you may also use this to keep track of relevant moderation information.

The user will not be notified when a note is added.
